    Default Sambar and dholes

I had photographed this in Bandipur. The sambar herd had got into water and the dholes were trying to find a way to attack one of them, especially the fawn. So two sambars came forward and started stamping their feet in the water. This is before one of the sambars charged at the dholes. You have seen some of those shots earlier.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm F2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII, ISO 400, 1/60, f5.6, full frame.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Good interaction captured. Wish the light were better... What are the spots in a semi circle above the head of the left sambar?

Nice natural history movement captured. The raised tails shows that the sambars are on alert. The splash has come nicely. Thanks for sharing.

    Bibhav,
The spots are mud. The Sambars were stamping their feet so hard that apart from water, mud is also thrown up.
