    Default Malabar Giant Squirrel (Gavi)

    Adding to the series

This was photographed many a moons ago on
a long trek (38 kmts over 3 days inside the Periyar reserve) inside Gavi, Periyar reserve, end of the first day - all we found was elephant dung and far off birds, was dead tired and was desperate for a break, and all of a sudden we find this cute inquisitive creature gazing down at us, also next thing we noticed there were a few far off Lion tailed macaques freaking out on this tree too.

Cute fellow. I can imagine your situation. Difficult lighting conditions. Is this a big crop?

Nice curious pose. It would have been good if you could have included the tail as well. Its good there are no obstructions in the foreground. Thanks for sharing.

The light is contrasty here, hence causing a difficult exposure. Including the tail would have been nice. Thanks for sharing.
