    Photographed this at Ranganaththittu last weekend.

    Canon 50D,100-400mm L IS USM, 1/640, f6.3, ISO 200, hand held, full frame.

    I like the composition. The catchlight is nice. The wing spread looks good. Wish you had got a tad more space bwn the wings and the frame edge. Thanks for sharing.

    I agree, it was in a second that it spread its wings. It was quite difficult to compose from a moving boat. I was just lucky to not get the wings tips cut, since I was photographing at full frame. Thanks for the comment.

    It still looks good. Not too much of an issue with that as the pose is really appealing with the diagonal composition.

    Nice image. I like the colours. The background is nicely diffused. The eye contact is nice. Good details in the underparts. Exposure is good. The wing angle and the slope of the rock are parallel and look good. Thanks for sharing.

    Agree about the space, you need to tell the boatman to stop :-)

    Also you could try to recover the highlights from the rock.
