Default Insta 360 Pro II 8K VR

The second version of Insta360 Pro has been launched and it is a significant upgrade to the original and has been named as Insta360 Pro II.

This Insta360 Pro II VR camera comes with farsight monitoring and captures spherical VR videos as well as stills upto 8K 3D. Interestingly the Instra360 Pro Ii can also record 8K video while live streaming in 4K. 8K 2D at 60 fps, 8K 3D at 30 fps or even 8K 2D HDR at 30fps.

This camera also featuers 9-axis FlowState stabilisation system, crystalview monitoring for viewing in standard phones and other devices, automatic proxy files generation.

The FarSight 360 degree long range monitoring of this device includes a transmitter and receiver for live monitoring of the video from as far as 1.6 kms ground to ground or 3.2 km ground to air. It operates in 5.18 GHz and is plugged into the camera through the LAN port.

There is also Wi-Fi preview at 30 frames per second upto 15 feet distance.

Till date viewing of 360 degree has been resource intensive and makes the devices stutter. So the included CrystalView feature converts the 8K VR footage captured for viewing in 4K VR headsets and smartphones and monitors. So VR viewing experience can be broadbased.

The Insta360 Pro II can automatically create proxy files and it can now be stitched and edited in Adobe Premier Pro. It is not known if later on this ability to edit will come to the popular FCPX. After editing the proxy can be replaced with full resolution files.

There are 6 cameras of 200 degrees at f2.4 and each records at bit rates upto 120 Mb/s and records to a microSD card. The cameras have ability to adjust shutter speed and ISO ranges from 100-6400. There is a HDR function as well. One can also shoot at upto 120fps. For still photography there is timelapse mode as well as burst mode, Raw and JPEG file capture. The proxy files and stabilization data are recorded to a separate full SD card.

The camera also has audio recording facility with 4 built-in microphones as well as a 3.5mm mic input which can record audio from external microphones.

Image stabilization is touted to be a key feature in this camera. The Insta360 Pro II has a nine-axis gyro and this data can be read by the Insta360 software which is downloadable. It is said to offer precise and customizable stabilization. There is a built-in GPS module which provides data for Google Maps Street View and other precision-mapping applications.

The frame is made of aluminum. There aretwo USB ports, and a hot-swap battery dock.

    Price: $4999 USD
