A beautiful bird. The orange leaf in the BG distracts a bit. Would have been better if you could move to the right a bit more. You could have avoided the leaf as well as the coincidence of the branch and the beak. Thanks for sharing.

It is always a challenge to photograph while you are in boat, however I have seen many photographers using tripods at Ranganthittu, I haven't though.

Overall nice image wish you had got a better eye contact.

Lovely bird. I dont mind the orange leaf. Avoiding the coincidence of the branch and the beak would have been good, but photographing from a boat is difficult. Overall a nice image. Thanks for sharing.

Praveen, I think it is better to photograph hand held from a boat than using a tripod.

The eye contact is fine. Nice image. Often we fail to notice small potential distractions due to the small viewfinders. The green leaf at the top right corner doesn't add much to the image.

I use a tripod in the boat as I can't handhold my lens. Handholding gives the maximum freedom and if you are able to get sharp shots using handholding, then that is preferable. Else, monopod, tripod etc. One has to take into account the swaying of the boats and click accordingly.
