    Default The Collared Lady

This photographed of T17 was created in Zone 3 at Ranthambore. She was walking down the slope with our jeep ahead of her and atleast 6-8 jeeps behind her. It was around 6 in the evening and it was quite difficult to photograph while trying to avoid getting the bumper of the jeeps behind her.

I have photographed her maximum in this trip. She is truly a photographer's delight. Only the 'Collar' around her neck.... That is truly unfortunate. This is one of the close up I got on my first safari on thrusday. A truly amazing expericence to see her walking at an arms length from me .

    Canon 50D, 100-400mm L IS USM, ISO 400, 1/160, f5.6, hand held, full frame.

    Comments and critiques welcome.

Wow Mrudul, this is a fantastic shot . Might have been better without the twigs, but they are not much of a distraction.

Lovely lady. I like the twigs in the frame. Without the twigs, the right side of the frame would have looked kind of empty. Also, without the twigs, I would have asked for a vertical composition of the head. The slight head turn ie. the tigress looking towards the right of the frame nicely balances the space at the right. If the tigress were looking towards left, then I would have suggested more space at the left and less at the right. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Lovely image Mrudul, lucky to have got it so close. Except for the collar I think the image is a stunner!

Looking forward to more from the series & the trip

Nice image. Wish the collar weren't visible. Wish there were a more discreet method of tracking tigers than the collar.
