    Default Young Lady

This young tigress was photographed in Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve. She is a shy tigress and runs away at the sight of tourist vehicles. Her mother was injured in a fight with a male tiger and then when the forest department officials tried to treat her with the help of a local vet, she predictably died.

Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, Canon EF400mm f2.8 L IS USM, ISO 400, f4, 1/640 second, EV: -1/3, full frame image.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

I had the privilege of watching her in motion when Sabyasachi showed the high definition movie images.

The coat is glittering. Hope that she lives in Ranthambore forests like the erst-while Ranis like Noon, Laxmi, Padmini, Nuri etc - which many wildlifers like Sankhala, FS Rathore, Thapar etc so fondly wrote about.

Wow! She looks huge and quite relaxed. Nice eye contact. Which zone was the sighting?
Look forward to more from the trip

Sharp image. I liked the backlit hair. The eye contact and the pose is nice. You got a nice close-up.

Praveen, if I remember correctly this was in Zone 4.

Great shot. I like the rim lighting and the low angle. Any particular reason for the use of f4?

    Abhishek,
I wanted a shallow depth of field. Will post from the series with f3.2 and f2.8 as well. You can then compare.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Love the eyes. Did you try some images with your 24-105 or 24-70 with this guy? Thanks for sharing.

    She is a tigress.

She came out of the forest and sat on the road for a minute or so. I didn't feel a wide angle would have looked good in this backlit scene.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
