This image surely conveys the grim situation we are facing. We need to think how much development we need and at what cost. We surely are on the edge now. Thanks for sharing.

This is so sad. Unscrupulous fellows are at work again. They try to dig away and expose the roots, so that the tree is left without nutrients and support. So it is a question whether it dies first due to lack of nutrients or falls off due to lack of support. Either way it is dead. So the National Highway authorities will wash off their hands and won't replant the trees. As such, they claim to plant saplings when they cut off a hard growth tree that is several decades old or several hundred years old.

Frankly speaking, we are proving to be the most unscrupulous and foolish race among all the creatures that have ever walked on this earth.

Unscrupulous----I find no better word to describe our race which is iengaged in a rat race towards a abyss.

6 lane can become even 60, but the authorities can never ease out the traffic if they don't contain it.

Sure is bad news. Even in cities, cutting down of large trees to widen roads has led to a sharp change in climate. A perfect example of so called development at the cost of the environment. I ask are the repurcussions worth the development?
