    Default Jhujhura tigress

Its been tough to know that she is no longer there. I wont be privileged to see her again.

    Canon EOS 10D, Canon EF 300mm f4 L IS USM, f4, 1/180, ISO 100.

Brings a smile in my face when I see the ISO 100. I was still shooting slides in those days and ISO 50 and ISO 100 were the norm.

She is one tigress who used to be vocal about intrusions into her personal space. I have seen her often snarling at the presence of tourist vehicles. And see the irony. She was felled by a vehicle.

Beautiful portrait. I liked the black and white composition. The alert look is nice.

I can imagine how you might be feeling. Photographing a particular animal over the years, establishes a bond. I started my photography in Bandhavgarh and I have been lucky to photograph her for last two years. She was a photographer's delight .

Look forward to see more images of her.

Very well taken and well portrayed photograph of an unfortunate tiger.

Is Driving license a license to kill on roads inside forests also?

You can plant trees but cannot create forests

It is certainly a grief that such a charishmatic creature had a gruesome end.

In what aspect is this killing lesser than a murder ?

As usual a political force is behind the killing and what expected is an absolute silence till next similar incident takesover in other nook of the country. People in our country are eternally afraid of political forces.

The amber eyes of this magnificant tigress is alas closed for ever...unfortunately.

    A beautiful capture.
It just reminds me of our callousness and a huge loss! Depressing!

Beautiful image. It is hard to accept that she no longer exists, even more painful to imagine the fate of her cubs. It's a big loss

Nice shot Sabyasachi. No nits. I like the B&W.

I echo praveen... it's a big loss, and it's even more saddening to imagine the plight of her cubs.

Sabs..did she die?? when? is she the one with a limp on the hind limbs? is she the one (sidbaba female) near the park entrance in bandhavgarh? she has two cubs and also shares territory with bamera male..

or is she the one near rasbehera dam who poses extremely well for pictures (i had named her as rooprani) ? Last week when i pictured her she was being irritated by a jackal (in the evening).

The one you saw in rajbehera dam irritated by a jackal is the one who died. She is known as the Jhurjhura tigress after the jhurjhura dam and the caves where she used to hide her cubs. She died after being hit by a jeep. No arrests made yet.

The Sidhababa female is limping but alive and her cubs are doing well.

The BW treatment looks nice. I like the way the head pops out of the dark background. May she rest in peace.
