    The lens and the subject is aligned, so the eye contact is good. However, the bright leaves at the right distract. Moving to the left would have helped in avoiding that. A vertical composition would have been good.

    A vertical composition here would have helped you capture the whole of the ghorpad (Monitor Lizard) at the same time giving you a feel of perspective from its eyes.
    I agree that the bright leaves distract a bit. Good that you spotted it at the bark of a tree.
