    Default Freeing it self

Moulting is the shedding of the exoskeleton. This process is called ecdysis. Ecdysis is necessary because the exoskeleton is rigid and cannot grow like skin. The new exoskeleton is initially soft but hardens after the moulting of the old exoskeleton.

Congrats to you for being at the right place at the right time! Do you have any more images of this moulting? Wish you had a contrasting background .

I second Vikram's comment. You were at the right place at the right time. Good that you documented it. Look forward to more from this series.

What was the shutter speed, aperture and ISO?

    Cheers,

Lovely image. I like the green background, however wish that the bright spots were absent. Lovely behaviour documentation. Look forward to more from the series. Thanks for sharing.
