Default Dragonfly caught a Butterfly(Or is it vice versa?!)

This picture was taken a few years ago using Nikon FM2 and Nikkor 300mm lens. This unusual action I could capture at Thodupuzha on the banks of a tributary of the Periyar river.

The scan is of poor quality and is as given by the studio.

The action captured is nice. Wish the stick was not directly infront of it. Seems the dragonfly caught the butterfly. Nice record. Thanks for sharing.

Nice record. Dragonflies are predatory, butterflies are not. So it is indeed the dragonfly that has caught the butterfly. There is a spider further down the branch, looks like it too wants a bit of the butterfly . TFS.

Good action you have witnessed. Not many people will notice this. With your DSLR you will be able to get some better quality than the scan. The branches frame it well. Thanks for sharing.

Nice documentation of this behaviour. The spider is a plus to this image. Thanks for sharing.
