Default Right of way is reserved for the Nilgiri Tahr.....

This female Tahr stood right in the middle of the road at Eravikulam NP looking at me,the camera, tripod and may be the umbrella which I was holding to take protection from the rain.....

Private vehicles were allowed beyond this point till the last "Neelakurinji" season in 2006.From that time onwards private vehicles are not allowed here and has to stop around 5 kms away from this point. The Tahrs are thankful to "A few good men"........

I remember this place. It is always a pleasure to watch these Nilgiri Tahr's. One can get quiet close to them, provided you don't make any abrupt movement to spook them. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Nice inquisitive looks. The low angle and the details are nice. I liked the composition, but would have liked more space on the left than on the right. That way more of the greens would have been visible than the road, just a suggestion . Look forward to more. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your comments.....Praveen, Eravikulam NP is just 12 kms away from Munnar town and is the only such park in India. There are about 700-800 tahrs are living here.Munnar as you know is about 130 kms from Cochin.
If you have not visited this place it is high time you have done so!

Make sure to be an early bird while going to the park.

    Regards
