The eye contact is nice. The background is nice and clean. There is some noise in the image, is this a crop? Due to cropping the details are lost, so even if you see the subject quite close in the frame, the image doesn't look appealing. Try to avoid cropping more than 10%. Thanks for sharing.

Agree with the previous comment. I would have preferred a more vertical image ie. less width.

I have also taken a garden lizard at http://indiawilds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4913 and erroneously named it chameleon. Yours is a much closer and better shot.

in this pic, i also feel that the tree/twig on the left and the reptile's left foot is way too out-of-focus. It distracts me. so somewhere this needed to be taken care of.

The focus on the face and the eye colour is excellent, though.
Thanks for sharing. Somehow i always feel this reptile is royal...
