    Smile Serpent eagle at Bandipur

This is a crested serpent eagle on the ground, during an evening jeep safari at Bandipur NP in Oct 2010. It was quite used to us and did not flinch though we were just some 6 m away.

Camera: Fujifilm S2000 HD, 15X optical zoom
    Exposure: Auto, Anti- shake, Handheld

The eye contact is nice. A vertical composition would have been better. Was it with a kill or was in injured? Thanks for sharing.

Nice image and eye contact, agree with Mrudul on vertical. The CSE is on ground probably becoz of a kill.

I agree with previous comments. It may have sat on a turtle or something. Wish there was more sharpness in the image. I am not sure if there is an option to manually select the focusing point in your camera. When a subject is in thick vegetation, then it is better to use manual focus to do precise focusing.

    Cheers,
