Default Ranganthittu- Nesting Season Jan 2011

A painted stork at Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary near Mysore on Sun, 30 Jan 2011. Photo taken from a slowly moving boat. This is the nesting season for the painted stork and I could see hundreds of them on the trees. It is a beauty to see this bird gracefully fly.

    Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S2000 HD
Exposure: Auto- focus, hand- held, anti- shake mode.

It is interesting watching these birds drink. They lower their head and then raise it with water droplets falling down. Depending upon the responsiveness of your camera, you can plan when to click the drinking pose.

In this case, the light was against you. So the head is not well lit. Some more space infront of the bird would have been better. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Lovely colorful stork, difficult bird to expose as the whites easily get blown out. Agree with comments made.

Nice pose captured. Wish the light was better. Agree about more space on the left in the direction it is looking. Photographing from a boat can be difficult. Thanks for sharing.
