Very sharp. I have not been lucky still to photograph it :-( . The background and foreground colours are matching well with the animal.

    Superb shot.

    Kiran,
Lovely moment. I wish to see one in such light. I have always seen then very early in the morning or late in the evening.

I like the alert pose and composition. I would have liked some more sharpness in the eyes. A bit more space at the bottom for the tail would have been nice. Did you do any cloning to the fore ground?

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Saby : this was shot at late evening, IS helped me in getting this sharp.
    No, nothing clonned here.
I was so excited to see the cat, I forgot everything about compositions

    Thanks,

Lovely light and view... but the image looks over sharpened. Did you run it through Neat Image? Sometimes noise looks better left as it is. But then, ISO 400 shouldn't be producing substantial noise anyway.

@Aditya : no I didn't used neat image on this...I wanted it to be sharp. if it looks oversharpen will try to reduce overall shapenness .
ISO 400 for 50d is too much noise. 50d with higher megapixel in small size sensor produces lots of noise in images.

Gr8 man, you must have been patiently waiting. I have known one one other friend of mine who shot a jungle cat in day light.

I recently was lucky to see one at least in the Jungles of Tadoba but that was in the dark and it was too much of an ask for me to photograph it, esp with no flash allowed int he jungle.
