    Default "Who is more beautiful"

I shot this spotted deer in BR hills wild life sanctuary in karnataka when i was on a safari around 7am in the morning on 14-4-2011. I found this deer standing alone and mocking at me with its tongue protruding. I said "you are more beautiful than me".
As I am new to photography i would like to have your valuable evaluation on this image to improve myself.

    Hello Uma,

    Welcome to IndiaWilds..!!

Nice first post. The eye contact is nice. A vertical composition would have been good here as presently only part of the body is visible. Is this full frame? Which lens are you using? Is it 18-55 the kit lens which comes along with 1000D? Do check the Tips section, that will accelerate your learning. Keep posting. Thanks for sharing.
    Regards,

Nice shot Uma, the eye contact is nice and the antlers look good. you may also want to try a vertical crop. Which lens do you use?, there is some noise that is visible probably becoz of higher ISO, wish the light was better

Thanks for the valuable evaluation. I shot this with telephoto lens 55-250mm. this is a full frame image not edited. I have to improve my reflexes to select correct composition.

    Hi Uma,
    Welcome to IndiaWilds!

I am sure you will learn a lot here. You can introduce yourself in the Who's Who section.

I agree with Mrudul and Praveen. Also, you need to keep a close eye on the background. That often strengthens the image or downgrades it. The basic idea is to get an image with all the elements in harmony.

In this case, you got the expression nice. The antlers are in velvet and looks good. There is a branch that appears just behind the head of the stag. That takes away our attention a bit. Often these things can make a difference.

If you are quiet and then wait for sometime, the animal is likely to move to a place where the background would be better, light would be better etc. That would result in a pleasing image. Wildlife photography is about patience as well.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
