The plumage looks nice. I think a vertical composition would have been nice. A slight head turn away from you would have enhanced the eye contact further. I feel the whites near the bottom are a bit overexposed. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, a vertical composition would be fine, or even a rectangular composition with the white patch of the neck omitted and the space on the left cut down. Also, adding a round of sharpness will be good. On the whole, the breeding plumage looks nice...tfs
Not sure if you uploaded a file size larger than 300kb or bigger than 1024 pixels on the longest side. If so, the software would automatically resize and the image quality falls.
