Default Close encounters of the striped kind

The Sambar was moving towards a water body little realizing that a tigress was lying on the bank. Suddenly it froze and raised a leg then thumped it down, then quietly melted away into the forest on the left. It was a poignant moment both for us and the Sambar as its eyes scanned the scene in front of it while the ears rotated to keep an `ear' on us in the gypsy.

Nice behavior captured. It surely would have been a nice moment to witness. I would have liked a wider frame to include more of the surroundings. If this is a crop, please do upload a wider composition as that would help to visualise the surroundings. Where was this photographed? What are the equipment details. Look forward to more. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with Mrudul the the frame is tight. Some more space at the left would have enhanced the composition. There is less separation between at the top and the bottom. It seems the tiger is sleeping. The raised tail tells us that it is alarmed. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more.
