    Default Ranthambore tiger

Ranthambore nationakl park is the place where I have seen tigers at every safari during 16th - 18th june 11. I recmmond this place for tiger watching. I am still learning.

    Exif
Taken using canon 7D, 100-400, at 400mm, F5.6 1/250s, iso was high at 1600 because of low light, WB - auto, Manual mode handheld shot. metering - matrix. cropped to fill the frame as the shot was taken from gypsy at around 50- 60n meters away, I wish I could go closer.

Lovely sighting Ashok, couple of things which you could do to get a better shot. ISO could have been slightly reduced say to 800 or 1250, image without crop may look even better with habitat. Avoid NR to ensure you get more details. Use of bean bag or monopod is advisable and lastly try using aperture priority mode, it is much simpler.

The pose and the low angle look nice. It is not always necessary to get a frame-filling closeup. I agree with Praveen, there was probably no need to crop this one, unless done for enhancing the composition. I would like to see the original full-frame shot, as a bit of habitat will make this image more interesting.

Agree with comments made by Praveen. Seeing the original image, I feel that you could have used a different focus point (if you were using the centre point, a point to the left of it and moving the camera to the right accordingly) to get lesser space at the left with the head region coming to the left corner, thereby leaving enough room on the right side

The repost looks better. I agree with the above comments. Having more space on the right in the direction it is looking will enhance the composition further. Do check the Tips section for more information on sharpness techniques and processing. Thanks for sharing.

I agree that the repost looks better. I would have loved to use atleast one stop narrow aperture ie. f8. With a 100-400 you can get away with a lower shutter speed if your technique is right. If possible try using a steady support like beanbag.
