Good one. A very apt title. One can make lots of interpretations from it. To me it sounds like habitat fragmentation.
Please post the exif details (shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc) so that people can visualise the scene and comment better. Please check the tips section for a firefox plugin to read the exif details of the image.
In this image the pano crop works. Some more space at the left would have been better.
