    Default Life and Death

A Ghost Crab tries its luck with an Olive Ridley hatchling.... sort of made me imagine a leopard trying to handle a sambhar stag

One of the inaugural images from my new Tamron 90mm/2.8 1:1 macro... just about getting the hang of it.

    PENTAX K 10D
TAMRON SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di 1:1 Macro
    Av mode
    Tv: 1/125 sec
    Av: f/10
    Sensitivity: ISO 100
    Exposure Compensation: -0.3 EV
    Spot Metering
    Manual Focus
    Built in flash used

    Cheers,
    Aditya

Nice action captured. The image is sharp.

The crab looks like it is from an animated movie

    Aditya,
Good find. Nice behaviour captured. Even f9 is not sufficient to cover the crab and its prey. Depth of field is always shallow in macro photography. Look forward to more from this lens.

Nice shot.... though I agree with Mrudul...the crab looks like a character from an animation film.... :-)
I do feel sad for the hatchling though.... but then I suppose that is the law of nature... and one cannot but accept it...

    Hi Adi,
Good Catch. I tried to get a similar shot but couldnt get the focus right . The 'antlers' growing out of its eyes look good. Nice capture of 'no wastage' in the animal world.
