    Default Sambar stag

A late evening image made at f5.6, 1/40sec, ISO 3200, EV +0.3, 310mm, full frame. Canon EOS 60D, canon 100-400 L IS USM
Please feel free to express your thoughts on the noise levels at this hgh ISO, at least for posting images on the web if not for printing. Processing done is very minimal- just adjusted the levels and contrast. No sharpening done, and no noise reduction.

At the base of the throat there is a black patch. Is it a 'sore patch' at healing stage ?Where and when it was photographed? Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Nice composition. I liked the pose and the licking action looks nice. There is some noise visible in the image, but I think that should be ok for posting images on the web. Using such high ISO will be a concern when you are printing big sizes or entering into competitions. Thanks for sharing.

Nice pose bhargava, slight shift to the left wuld have avoided the tree right behind the head, but then eye contact willnot be the same. The noise is quite ok compared to the 500& 550D @ISO 3200

Nice image.Natural colour. That patch at the base of the throat,if not caused at processing stage, may be a 'sore patch' almost healed. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Most of the times when you are clicking a subject with fur the noise doesn't get noticed. Unless you crop heavily, try to correct the exposure drastically during post processing and the tonalities are right in the image, noise doesn't create major problems. I would concentrate on getting the details in the image and having a sharper image than bothering about noise.

    Cheers,
