    Default ?water Redstart in flight

    i spotted this bird (?water redstart) sitting on a rock from a bridge, just as i took aim it flew and i fired with my 7D, 100-400, iso 1000, 1/1500, +0.5 exposure bias. high iso as it was raining and sky overcast. for c&c pl.

    Lovely wing spread. The flowing water and the rocks give a nice feel of its habitat. Its good you used a high ISO, as that has helped. Hope you get it close soon. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for the comments & tips, Mrudul. in my set up i found this bird, most of the time, in dark gorges. hopefully i get closer next time.

    Lovely wingspread in the backdrop of flowing water through the gorge.Arunachal can boast of a number of species of Redstart.White-capped water-redstart occurs in rocky,swift-flowing mountain streams.Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

    Nice wingspread against the flowing water. This appears to me a Water redstart, but difficult to say what exact species of water redstart. A larger image may have had more impact.

    1.The Book of Indian Birds: BNHS :Salim Ali -(For Beginners)
    2.Birds of the Indian Subcontinent : BNHS :Ranjit Manakadan,J.C.Daniel &Nikhil Bhopale
    3. Birds of the Indian Subcontinent :Grimmet,Inskipp&Inskipp (or Pocket Guide by the same authors)
    These three books will serve your purpose for the present,in my view.

    This image gives a nice feel of the habitat. You can post a larger image. Images upto 1024 pixels on the longest side are allowed.
