Default The march of the Queen

This image should have been posted prior to the previous one I posted. Sorry I got the order of images wrong.
A tiger walking towards us from a distance of half a kilometer. We were just thinking that at some point she would move into the bushes, but she kept coming till she was at a sniffing distance from our gypsy which was stationed close to a small water body.
She then walked to the water body, scent marked and walked away almost ignoring our presence. Dismissive behavior and she made it clear what she thinks of us mere mortals!!

Inclusion of the habitat looks nice. The walking pose with the raised paw looks good. When was this photographed? Thanks for sharing.

@Mrudul: Thanks. This was taken around the end of December last year.

If you are not making any noise or sudden movements then it is ok. There was one instance when our driver (a hired taxi driver) in corbett got down from the vehicle and the tiger fled. I don't know whether the tiger was more shocked than us, but we are often left speechless by some of the actions.

Nice to watch a tiger come close in the wild. And when it is your first experience of a tiger in the wild, then it is simply fantastic.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Yes Sabyasachi, true. But in Bandipur and Kabini, people cant take private vehicles and the safari drivers/naturalists are pretty strict about people remaining silent/not getting down. So that is pretty good.

Lovely image. Beautiful eye contact. The entire composition looks nice, inclusion of the habitat gives a lovely feel to the image. Thanks for sharing.
