Default Wooly necked stork on one leg, nictitating membrane can be seen

After my session was over, I was walking back home when I happened to see this fellow flying in the sky. It was the first sighting of wooly necked stork in this area. Tracked it and found out where it settled down, slowly approached towards it hiding in the bushes, got my camera set up and took some shots.
This was captured at around 1.00 p.m.

Nice image Atul. Nice to see the wooly neck clearly. Where exactly in pune do you take these images? I will be in pune for about 3 days next week, I could try visiting this place. Thanks for sharing.

There are a couple of places you can visit for birding around Pune. I have been to Kavadi which is a small village off the Pune-Solapur highway, 3 km from Loni. After crossing the Toll post you need to take a left turn to go inside the village to the banks of the river. You can try going there.

    Thanks for the comments.

Murugan, as suggested by Mrudul, Kavdi is a good area to find various species of birds.

The place I go to is near Wakad along the coast of river Mula. It is not a famous place and people around here are not aware about the exact location and the presence of various species of birds. I have made my own paths here as I have been documenting various species along the coast of this river.

If you have time after visiting Kavdi, and happen to come towards Wakad do let me know. I'll make some time and take you there. Feel free to call me on +91-9881578563.

Thanks Mrudul and Atul for the suggestions.

Atul: I will try my best to make it, however it all depends on my work load. Will try to squeeze in sometime and buzz you. Thanks!!!
