Think it is yellow wagtail- male ,first winter visitor.Nice eye contact and colours
I would say this is an adult female grey wagtail (Motacilla cinerea). Could be wrong, I am not good at identifying wagtails.
I should have written "It didn't fly away".....sorry for the grammo.....

Grey Wagtail. Can not say whether 'M' or 'F'. It is in Periyar and it is winter. Both look alike in winter. When seen in Kolkata during summer or rains, its a female, for sure. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
