Nest building of Blue-throated Barbet

Most of the monogamous birds like Blue-throated Barbet, both male and female contribute in nest building. Here the female blue-throated Barbet is engaged finishing the egg chamber by smoothening the cavity floor before laying eggs while the male is attending her. Photographed in our village in West Bengal. April 2024.
