Photographed this buzzard from the car while travelling along the Mumbai-Pune highway today.
Some info about the bird:
The white-eyed buzzard Butastur teesa is unrelated to the true buzzards (genus Buteo). It is a medium sized hawk identified by the distinct white iris, white throat and white neck patch. Inhabits dry country and cultivation, and keeps away from well-wooded tracts. Feeds on insects, lizards, frogs etc.
Camera Model Name Canon PowerShot SX10 IS
Shooting Mode Aperture-Priority AE
Tv (Shutter Speed) 1/400
Av (Aperture Value) 5.7
ISO Speed 100
Cropped.
Self critique: I should have tried moving to avoid the pole behind the bird's head...(didn't notice it while clicking :()
Thanks for looking, comments and critiques awaited.
