The eye contact is fine. The perch is nice too. I think a higher depth of field would have helped in covering the tail. This becomes more evident due to the composition. If you leave more space at the top and bring the white area of the tail feathers lower down the image, then our eyes won't be attracted towards it. Thanks for sharing.

The eye contact and Bg are good.Nice details in the upper half. Agree on the composition part for the OOF part.
