Thanks Bhargava. Not sure about the reason for the calling, but got to know that they call actively when they are nesting (as against calls during mating). Will share any info that I get on this.
Thanks Sabyasachi, Uma and Mrudul.
@Sabyasachi - My rule of thumb is 1/100s shutter speed for perched birds. I like to keep ISO as small as possible, to avoid noise. Luckily for me, the bird was...
Wonderful focus. You seem to have gotten pretty close to the bird.

Thanks Mrudul, Bhargava and Sabyasachi.
@Sabyasachi - You've put it absolutely right - "At times, one doesn't have any choice." It took me more than an hour to get the bird to sit still for a...
Lovely details. That too with a catch.
This is one of those "tricky" compositions, where the bird faces one way but looks in the opposite direction. Personally, I'd have preferred the bird to be...
Nice sharp image. Reducing the space on the left and the bottom would make the composition stronger.
Nice diagonal composition. Is the focus on the wings of the bird?
Nice one Uma. The skies are beautiful. May be you could also have just chosen one Painted Stork and done a vertical composition to include more skies in the picture. A thought for another day in the...

Lovely composition and color. Eye-level would've been ideal but I know how Sanjeevaiah Park is. Beautiful shot!

Nice composition Pralay - the image has a dreamy feel to it. I agree with Mrudul - the white balance needs to be changed as there is a greenish tinge on the photograph. Do you shoot in RAW or JPG?
Nice composition Dr.Kalapamoi. I agree with Abhishek on opening the shadows. Also the white areas seem overexposed. May be the recovery tool or the highlights to reduce the exposure on that area.
Good one Dr.Jitendra! Nice light and eye contact.
The image, however, appears a bit grainy possibly due to ISO 400. How much of a crop is this? Just curious, but couldn't you have used ISO 200...
Thanks Dr.Kalpamoi and Abhishek.
Abhishek - The original image has been cropped a little (around 20%) to get this frame.

Sabyasachi - To answer your questions:
This is around 70% of the frame.
I generally like to shoot f/8 for most wildlife. But, for this shot where the light...
