Thanks Sankar. She was cooling off in the wet patch while keeping an eye on the strange looking creatures huddled at a distance.
Thanks. I found the light here to be more bright probably because of high altitude and no pollution. They have one of the best night skies in the world.
Another vista view of the lake. The lake is frozen in winters.
Great capture. Very difficult to sight this big cat.
Interestingly someone in a different forum had critiqued the straight lines on the shores above the water-land edge on the far side, seen clearly in the original version (I have removed this in the...
Thanks Mrudul Ji. I like your composition a lot. However, I hate to loose the rock strewn slopes in the foreground. To sum up, both are good giving different perspectives.
After taking another look at the image, I think your suggestion is correct. Here is the cropped version of the same.
Thank you. I specifically chose this to post because this is not something seen commonly. I did take few of those common ones too. Here I tried to center the lake in the frame as much as possible,...
High grassland lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 m (14,270 ft). The lake surrounded by mountains on all sides appeared in a small window at a distance as we approached it. The...
Thank you. Good to know the name of the species.
I will check if I have one from the archives. Thanks.

Spotted this bird at a lunch stop by the roadside on our our way to Badrinath. Not sure what this bird is. Hope someone in the forum knows.
Thank you.
Thanks. We were told it was not the best time to visit valley of flowers. The monsoon was just getting over and roads were not in good shape. Lots of mud and rock slides.
This maybe a better composition
Cropped version of the same
Sun is just about to go down the horizon. A bird is seen in the reflection of sun on the water.

There were lots of birds in the water but not at this location. Guess I could have cropped a bit at the bottom.
Thank you. Dawn is when the birds come in large numbers.
Another shot of the field of flowers. Not sure what these flowers are.
135 mm, 1/160 sec; f/8; ISO 250
This was in Utharkhand when we did a tour of Kedarnath and Badrinath in September this year. These are wild flowers growing by the roadside. Stepped out of the car and took some snaps. This is part...
Thanks ......................
Very nice shot. The blurring behind the animal is perfectly OK and this is again due to DOF effect. Most wildlife photographers recommend this but in any art, the rules can be broken.
