Nice sighting.Nice image. It is a Common Cobra(Naja naja naja). The underside of hood and wide dark neck-band well documented. The famous hood marking ( resembling spectacles) OR no marking at all is on the back of the hood(not seen in the image).

A special feature is noted. The snake has its round hood alongwith stretched little wider neck.
It occurs in some places. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Nice image Jobymon. Snakes are such fascinating creatures, one cant but love them inspite of their fearsome appearance at times. The spectacled cobra has been nicely captured. Cobras are one species which look pretty on both sides, front and back and they give a lovely feel when light falls on their hood.

As Saktipadaji has pointed out the hood is slightly different from conventional cobras, this type can be seen more on king cobras as their hood do not spread out as wide as the common cobra. Thanks for sharing.

Nice sighting. The raised hood looks nice. The low angle adds to the composition. Wish the light was better to get a higher shutter speed for more details. Where was this photographed? Thanks for sharing.
