    Default Southern Flying Lizard....Arippa

The Southern flying lizard is capable of gliding reatively long distances than we think it is capable of.The yellow flaps at the neck acts as horizontal stabilisers....Found this one along with another at Arippa which is 60kms from Trivandrum.....

Nice sighting. The gular sac is nicely documented. If possible moving a bit more to the left, would have helped to get it more parallel to the sensor to get more details. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see this shankar sab. Im not too sure if the gular sac helps in flight. The lizard jumps from a height and spreads the membranes between the legs like a glider. The gular sac is seen mostly used for display.

Roopakji you are right as the GUlar sac is used for courtship dislays and dont play any major role in their glides. Thanks for the information.
