Common calotes or Common garden lizard (Calotes versicolor). The Indian chameleon is a very different lizard (here's one for comparison, posted by Dr. Katre- http://www.indiawilds.com/forums/sho...ight=chameleon ).
The common calotes is the unfortunate target of a myth that says it sucks the blood of anyone who approaches or looks at it (hence the archaic name 'bloodsucker'). In fact, it is very interesting to observe the contests between territorial males of this species, with their colour changes and head-bobbing aggression displays.

Thanks. I always thought this was from a family of chameleons...
Nice eye contact. Good details and colours. Nice composition. Thanks for sharing.
It is nice to see a glint in the eye. That elevates the image. Good that there is sufficient gap between the angled branches and the head. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi
