I am fine with the composition. Slightly more brightness would be better. It is not easy to get a kingfisher with a 300mm lens, unless one can crawl and sneak up or set up a hide and wait. The closer is the photographer from the subject, less is the crop and more are the details in the image. In the days when they used to develop a portion of the negative popularly referred to composing, the famous war photographer Robert Capa had said "if your photographs aren't good enough, you are not close enough". Those words still ring true despite high megapixel cameras. Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers,

Nice perch. Good eye contact. Seems you have cropped as there seems to be some noise in the background. Kingfishers normally frequent the perches, so you can try to sit quietly (use a hide) near this perch, and you will surely be able to get a good close-up . Thanks for sharing.

Nice composition, but this looks like a huge crop as there is noise and pixelation. You need to get closer. Kingfishers repeatedly use the same perch. Observe its daily routine and then pick a spot to wait at.
