    Default GHNP | Monochrome

A first glimpse of the Great Himalayan National Park, clicked from just beyond the entry point in Gushaini village.
I wanted the trees and hill on the right as silhouettes against the sky and snow, hence exposed accordingly.

Canon 500D, Canon 100mm Macro USM
    SS 1/4000
Av 8.0 (could have been narrower)
    ISO 400
Cropped a part of the empty sky. I was wishing for some more clouds.

    Thanks, C&C welcome.

Lovely landscape. The monochrome treatment works well here, as the peak in the centre stands out nicely. I liked the clouds, it looks as if slight sketching has been done . Thanks for sharing.

The white snow capped peak is a nice contrast and this works in black and white. I agree that some more clouds, though it is not in your hands, would have strengthened the composition. Why 1/4000 shutter speed? Is it because of the exertions due to the trek?
