What better gift can u expect, a bird lover getting to witness the whole new level of experience with a Flame-backed woodpecker sitting on a palm tree right in front of your home and its not at all bothered with my presence. An eternal 15 mins with the FBWP in front and the 550D with decent zoom lens in hand, it was like one of the best birthday gift I could ever get. This is one of the shots I could manage in that eternal moment.

I like this image. The angle is steep and the eye contact is very little, but this is still a very unusual perspective. The 180 degree head turn is interesting. This image also draws attention to the bird's specialised feet, a feature we rarely notice.
