    Spotted this bird in Ladakh. Can some one help with the Id please. Clicked with a basic camera.

    Nice sighting. The long tail feathers look nice. A lower angle if possible would have enhanced the image further. Were you photographing from a car? Where in Ladhak was this taken? Look forward to more. Thanks for sharing.

    At the Alchi village monastery in the Leh district of Ladakh, while strolling along the Indus river. Thank you for the photography tip. Plan to upgrade to a better camera soon.

    I remember seeing this species a lot in ladakh. One old man who was driving my car was exasperated and told me in broken hindi that it is "kauwa". While clicking this species, you have to ensure that there is frontal lighting ie. the sun should be behind your shoulder. The black feathers won't come out well if you are against the light.

    Thank you for the tip. Guess the old driver was right in a way as this one is from a crow family https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurasian_magpie
