Default Not certain whether everything is uncertain

The tigress in the image seems to be not certain whether everything is uncertain.
In India population of tigers, which once surpassed 100,000 odd, is facing extinction because of a collapse in the variety of mating partners.
Scientists infers that the current population of tigers has just seven per cent of the total DNA that existed within the community at the time of the British empire, when the animals were routinely hunted by British officials and Indian royalty.
The politicians and experts say that while in India dwindling numbers of tigers may have stabilized in recent years, but the threat of inbreeding is being overlooked and that action must be taken to prevent islands of just a handful of tigers that are not connected to other populations.
Lot of the diversity has been lost because the tiger population has collapsed as a result of the threat to habitat.
Currently, what genetic diversity is left only exists in pockets. Authorities says things are reasonably all right because the population has stabilized. But that may be the only part of the story...........
Both conservationists and the authorities must appreciate that the number of tigers alone is not enough to ensure the species’ survival.
We need to protect the whole spread of forest reserves because many reserves now have their own unique gene combinations, which might be useful for future breeding programs.

Corbett Eternal. How fortunate we are to look at and enjoy the beauty. I have posted glimpse of Corbett in Feb 1973, just one and a half month before Project Tiger was launched on 1st April. A grateful mind remembers Indira......Thanks for sharing.

Watching a tiger in its natural habitat is always nice. In Corbett, it is even better. It is very important to reestablish the connectivities between different forests so that tigers can repopulate these forests on their own and the genetic diversity remains healthy. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
