    Default The shells on steel

    ID: unknown

Came across this interesting sight of some empty shells of eggs strangled and attached to a strand of Spider's web. On close observation it seemed that the single strong strand had several tiny strands holding upon the two eggs.
Any idea upon the identification of the eggs might be helpful.
These shells were hardly an 1mm across. Though they surely resembled eggs of some butterfly but couldnt id them, nor understand how it ended up on the web, there seemed to be a few more, close to the leaf where the web had been anchored, but no traces of the spider nor any caterpillars or nymphs

    EXIF:

    Canon 100mm macro + Raynox DCR 250
    F/20
    Shutterspeed 1/160
    ISO 400
    Handheld, External flash fired
