    Default Feeding on the noisemaker

    ID: Cicada with mites

A very different form of a find, this beauty seemed to be just getting started for the monsoon-y day. It seemed to be sipping off the sap from the plant on which it had resided and hardly moved despite our presence, which was not very common for these noisy flyers, probably the cold mornings of monsoon season had constrained its motion. There also seemed to be these vibrantly red mites on the back that had been flourishing pretty well, giving the image as if they had silenced the beauty, or may be it was a female.

Interesting image. It would have looked even better if the eye/head was parallel to the frame. How much is the crop here? Thanks for sharing.
