    Default The Injured King.

Nikon P510 , 1/200 , F4.7 , ISO 140. Cropped from bottom and left to improve the composition. PP in Adobe Lightroom.

Clicked on 17th June, 2018 at Pench Tiger Reserve.

The Tiger in this photo is known as 'Rayakasha'. He is the alpha of the turia region of Pench. He had gotten into a fight with a new male and was injured. The Forest Department was in search of this male , to tranquilise him and nurse his wounds. During this sighting, there were so many gypsys that a gypsy behind our gypsy bumped into us. Luckily the gypsys made way to let 'Rayakasha' cross. He wasn't borthered by the huge number of gypsys and the loud noise of the engines. He crossed the road and disappeaeed into the thicket. Many gypsys tried to follow him. We chose not to follow him.

Seems Pench is also following Bandhavgarh in way tourists gypsy's are crowding around the tiger . Liked the way he is observing through the trees. Some scars can be seen on his face from his earlier fights. I feel a higher ISO and a narrower shutter speed would have been good to get more details. Thanks for sharing.

Nice that you got the head through the trees. If you could have got the right ear then it would have been even better.

It is a tough scene for wildlife, especially big animals like tigers and elephants. They are losing their habitat. There is stiff competition between tigers for space. And tourism pressure only adds to the problems for them.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Very troubling sequence of events .Most adult males have to fight constantly to preserve their territory .It is tough for them in view of the increasing tiger population and the constant degredation of forest cover . Thanks for sharing.
