May be during a fight with someone else the elephant lost its tusk? It happens at times. And when the tusker loses a tusk it is painful for some time. The elephant here is aware about your presence and is feeding knowing that there is no danger from you guys. You still haven't moved close and bothering the elephant. Thanks for sharing.
