Blue bee eaters

This is photographed at Naguvanahalli near Mysore.
These birds were jumping to air often & often to catch flies, sit for a while. Though I tried to photograph them in action, but I could not.

Nice to see so many bee-eaters. To photograph bee-eaters in flight you need a very high shutter speed of around 1/1000 atleast as they are very swift.

They were against the light, so giving a +ve exposure compensation would have been good. Wish you were a bit nearer so -ve space at the bottom would have reduced. When was this photographed? Thanks for sharing.

These are Chestnut-headed Bee-eaters(Merops Leschenaulti).This Bee-eater has a distinct ,brilliant CHESTNUT HEAD with a black eye-stripe.
Well, you have named them Blue Bee-eater because its rump and belly are bluish on otherwise Green body.
To an experienced eye this name does not matter,but new learners may get confused between Blue(if named like that)and Green Bee-eater(Merops Orientalis).Good effort to document so many birds in one frame,how nice had it been ,even one single Chestnut Head seen burning bright(well focussed).
