Pipit ?

Is this some kind of a pipit ? was photographed at the Marudhamalai hills (Coimbatore) almost a year ago . . .

Looks like a lark to me.Closest i can get to is Indian bush lark. Not sure though.Larks are a tough lot to ID without a feild guide.

Bill looks like that of Ashy crowned sparrow lark's (female). Since the image was from Marudhamalai (foot hills of W.Ghats) I suppose it is Ashy crowned sparrow lark.

Could be jerdons as well. Kazmierczak feild guide says the shorter tail is indicative of jerdons. also the location seems to favour that. but jerdons generally show a lot more Rofous on the wing while perched.

Sorry, This could be a Female ashy crowned sparrow lark also.Very difficult to distinguish from Indian Bush lark.But I love them all
