    Default Significance of Tamarind trees

    Hi,

I would like to know if there was any study (or any general observation) was done on the ecological importance of Tamarind trees in forest and
Dependence of wildlife in general and Grizzled Giant Squirrel , Ungulates and Elephants in particular on the tamarind tree as source of food.

Deers, elephants and sqirrels do enjoy the fruits and flowers of tamarind. Squirrels, slender loris and birds nest on these trees.
As long as the Forest Dept. allows Tamarind collection as forest produce it is a curse in the forest !
