Love the sharp eyes... But the harsh light has blown out the top of the head... A mild toning down of the highlights would be good.

Thanks all. The head part was directly in the light making it a bit more lighted. Will try to work and reduce the hightlights and see.

Thanks Abhishek.I took lot of shots..since it was lying still for quite a long time.But mostly all are from this angle, because I was crawling nearer to it from this side. If I had got up and moved it would have gone into the hole.

Nice close-up.
I would love to see clear skin details (folds and scales), as skin is the most significant features of lizards.
May be full-frame focus would be great, instead of spot/center metering (I am not sure).
Though claws and mouth tip are plus points here acc. to me.

Extra Innings: Known to be one of the most intelligent wild creatures. Some legend is there that, Monitor Lizards can count objects (Just an ear to ear story). They can smell the flesh even from some kilometers. They are venomous. Komodo Dragon is the biggest in this family.
