A vertical showing the entire body of the adult would have been nice.
The trick lies in isolating the subject. If you park your boat near them for sometime, they are bound to fly or fight among themselves etc resulting in better photo opportunities. Thanks for sharing.

I feel this image would have been stronger if the adult had been absent. Thanks for sharing.
Its a bit difficult to photograph in Ranganathittu as there are lot of birds and the composition becomes a bit tricky with the boat moving. The details and the sharpness is nice. The eye contact and the open beak also adds to the composition. Agree with the above comments for further enhancing the composition. Thanks for sharing.
